It was nice to come and see for the first time an open lesson for the Hippo-therapy. You can see truly magnificent changes in the child when he comes to the podium and gets ready for the horse. His eyes become very shiny and you can see all the feelings are coming through them. I have asked my 5 year old son  what did he feel when he went on a horse for the first time, to which he replied: "Like a butterfly!"

That’s what exactly they feel, the disabled kids who come to Preodolenie –L stable for another little dream…to feel like a butterfly! I am very happy that we can give them those possibilities for them and even more to give them a chance to look forward for their next goal in life! Perhaps to walk unaided.

New York Bakery donated 2,500 yummy bagels to four of the charities we support: CCP, Taganka Children's Fund, Vverh and Preodoleine-L. 

These delicious goods arrived in perfect timing for the graduation celebrations of the projects and were thoroughly enjoyed by the children and their families. Special thanks to Brad and Julia Garin, the owners of NY Bakery, for the generous donation. BWC donates 15,000 roubles to ARC

Many thanks to the BWC for the kind donation of 15,000 roubles which was raised from the Christmas Fair held in the embassy this year.  Thank you for your support!

Cranston Family Book Sale!

Suzanne  Cranston and her family recently held a book sale and raised an impressive 90,000 roubles, which they have kindly donated to fo ARC.  This money is to be divided between two new projects, Krug and Solnechny Mir.  Krug will use their 45,000 roubles to part-fund the places of 5 disabled children from impoverished families, so that they can now attend the Summer 2012 theatre camp.

Many thanks to the Cranstons for this generous donation, especially to Alistair, Iain & Kate for adding money from their allowances to round the final figure up!

All best wishes to the Cranstons when they leave Moscow this Summer, their support of ARC over the years has been much appreciated.

 

We are happy to be one of the the two beneficiary charities together with Taganka Children's Fund. 

Join us at this family event on Saturday, 17th March from 13:30 at Novaya Liga Sports Centre, 56 Suschevskiy Val. The BBC will be filming the day, featuring the Mile Run/ Walk on BBC Worldwide.  So this might be your chance to wave to the folks at home.

Donation for participation in the Mile is 200 roubles – payable on the day. All proceeds will go to the charities.

 

 

This petrol engine go-kart was kindly given to ARC by Leigh & Nick Brassington who were moving back to Australia.  Some maintenance will be needed before it is back in good working condition and so we decided to offer it to Good Deeds Initiative, who were delighted to receive it. 

One of the GDI team leaders, Grisha Kvyatkowsky, came to collect the go kart so that the youngsters can start working on it.  Grisha will be coordinating this particular project.

We look forward to being able to report on the go kart once it is finished and in use!

 

   

 

On 13^th Dec The British Ambassador to Russia, Tim Barrow, welcomed over 100 Alumni Club members to the Residence to network and celebrate the festive period.  Our Director, Shona McGrahan, intoduced ARC and spoke about the work we do in Russia.

We would like to thank the British Ambassador for his warm welcome and the British Alumni Club for participating in our lottery and helping us to raise 46,000 Rubles on the night. Kindest thanks go to our sponsors Guerlain for donating their most exquisite perfumes as lottery prizes, Lindt for the scrumptious chocolate and Cutty Sark for the Whisky.

 

  



Warm thanks to the "Moscow Mellow Divas" choir for making us one of the beneficiaries of their Christmas concerts, which took place on 7th and 9th December 2011. We enjoyed listening to you in the beautiful setting of the Norwegian embassy while tasting delicious mince pies and wine.

Your performance certainly put us in the right mood for Christmas.
