ARC - Action for Russia's Children

Projects > Musical Experimental Theatre 'Open Art'

Formed in 2001 by Oksana Terechanko, this is a musical theatre group whose members are entirely composed of young people and adults with learning disabilities, Autism, Cerebral Palsy and Down's syndrome. The aim of this project is to develop the talents and musical abilities of its members and in doing so, encourage them to feel like equal members within Russian society. Open Art performances are based on a combination of different art forms and include an extensive repertoire of Italian and Russian compositions. Bi-weekly rehearsals are held for the groups participants and regular performances organised for members of the public.
